Jori Lewis will be joining AFS to discuss her new book, Slaves for Peanuts, which uncovers how demand for peanut oil in Europe ensured that slavery in Africa would persist well into the twentieth century.
A graduate of the University of Chicago in Anthropology, Jori Lewis is an award-winning independent writer and editor who writes about the environment and agriculture mostly from the Global South. Jori Lewis will be joining AFS to discuss her new book on Wednesday, October 26th 2022 in the Gendebein Room of Skillman Library at 12:10. Lunch will be available. Join us for this exciting speaker soon!
